Last week I was listening to an audio from Bernard Poolman.
In that audio he shared the following concept: those who try to make you feel good do not expose you to the truth. The truth hurt! When the truth hurt, you know you are getting somewhere.
From my own experience, I did experience what he talk about.
When I was seeking the « truth » that feel good, I wasn’t getting anywhere. I was just looping the same loop over and over, because that « truth » wasn’t really the truth, it’s was all mind/ego/self interest based.
When I have been exposed to the « truth » that hurt,it didn’t feel good, because for the first time of my life I had to face myself. I had to take responsibility for everything that I have accepted and allowed within me.
I then had to be self-honest about all the suffering that’s happening within this world and how I was actively participating in a system that was creating that suffering.
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to use feelings as way to mesure if I was exposed to the truth
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to seek the « truth » instead of finding the truth in what is real
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not use common sense to see the truth of reality in front of me
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to create truth as a mind concept without realizing that I had no idea of what’s really going on
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to not realize that truth hurts
